Botswana: Wild Okavango to Chobe Magic

Guided nine nights, self-drive, self-catered overland adventure including 3 nights at the unique, fully catered bush-camp in Mababe Wilderness. Game drives, guided bush walks, mokoro trips, night drives, and deep sand driving from Maun to the Chobe River are all featured in this delightful adventure.

The Itinerary

We gather in Maun, collect vehicles, stock supplies, and settle into camp for a relaxed first night and briefing. The route leads north through Moremi Game Reserve and into the Khwai Community Concession, where wetlands, reed-fringed channels, and mopane thickets offer rich and varied wildlife encounters.

The journey deepens in the remote Mababe Wilderness, where we spend three nights in a fully catered, wilderness tented camp with exceptional bush cuisine. Expert walking-safari guides lead us through the bush on foot; an intimate, quietly thrilling way to explore one of Botswana’s least-visited wild places.

Turning north again, we cross the legendary sands of Savuti and overnight on the Chobe River, famous for dry-season gatherings of elephants, buffalo, and predators. A short drive east takes us to our final camp stay at Chobe Safari Lodge which offers creature comforts and an unforgettable Chobe River cruise, a perfect finale to this immersive exploration.

We conclude in Kasane, return our vehicles, and part ways … until the next wild adventure.
